Trays are a staple to the quintessential camp trunk. Decades ago, our trunks always included a wooden tray. The plastic Glide & Go Tray, however, has long replaced the bulky wooden tray and it’s been gliding and going summer after summer ever since. We first realized we needed to offer a smaller tray than our original when our Sales Director Matt was visiting camps and kept noticing campers struggle to get at the items in their trunk—the clunky wooden tray blocking everything below. It was very cumbersome! Matt thought, “What’s the point in a camp trunk if you can’t get to anything inside it?”

Each time you wanted to get something out of your trunk, you had to find a clear area the size of your trunk’s footprint where you could set your tray down, get what you wanted from your trunk, and put your tray back. We set out to fix that…

We dropped more than three pounds by getting rid of the wooden tray! Unlike our original wooden tray, the Glide & Go has a lid so you can pack it full and be sure nothing spills out! Constructed of plastic, don’t be afraid to let the tray get wet or store wet things inside. The Glide & Go Tray isn’t as weighted as its wooden predecessor and takes up half the space the original did. From customer outreach and surveys we’ve taken, we know our switch to the Glide & Go Tray was well-received.

What Glides about the Glide & Go Tray?
Summer camp is BUSY. Campers have lots of places to go and people to see! This tray wastes no time! It sits inside your trunk and slides side-to-side so the contents of your footlocker are easy to grab. Instead of having to completely remove the tray from inside your trunk like you had to with our original, just slide the tray to the other side, grab the items you need, and you’re on your way!
